Training begins in Earnest

Hi all

Today saw things get back to the serious business of trying to win a World Cup. Tactical, techincal and review meetings were held to consolidate knowledge and we had a excellent 2 hour practcial session next door to the official venue. Despite very high temperatures and some significant humidity in the indoor venue the players had a great workout that will speed their acclimatisation for the competition. Things continue to look positive and there remains a fantastic atmosphere and confidence within the whole squad of staff and players.

The only sour note was the constant jibes that I am now receiving from the squad. Once known as "Spartan" it seems that "Mr Bobby Buchey" may become my new nickname. Fans of the "classic" film "Waterboy" will understand the reference. In the current heat I seem to spend all my time transporting water from the local supermarket to the hotel with players and staff consuming around 40 litres a day!!
